Memodone Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 17, 2026

1. Who We Are

Memodone is a personal planning app operated by Casper Kjaer, an individual publisher based in Denmark.

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your personal information, contact us at support@memodone.app.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

Memodone uses Sign in with Apple to sign you in. Apple manages your Apple Account credentials, and Memodone does not have access to your Apple Account password.

Memodone receives the authentication information needed to identify your account and give you access to your tasks. This may include an account identifier and, where Apple provides it, an email address or Apple-generated private relay email address.

Account authentication is handled through Supabase.

Tasks and Planning Information

Memodone stores the planning information you create, including task titles, notes, checklists, completion status, planning horizon, and optional deadline, reminder, and scheduling information.

This information is securely stored using Supabase and linked to your Memodone account.

Your tasks and notes are private. Other Memodone users cannot access them, and Memodone does not sell your task content or use it for advertising.

Memodone uses this information to provide the app's planning, scheduling, and reminder features. Limited access by authorized personnel may be necessary to operate, secure, or troubleshoot the service. This access is not intended for routine reading of your personal task content.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Sign you in to your account.
  • Store and retrieve your tasks and planning information.
  • Keep your information synchronized.
  • Determine which tasks are relevant to show you on the home screen.
  • Provide reminders and Calendar integration that you choose to use.
  • Keep the service secure and reliable.
  • Respond to support and privacy requests.

Legal Bases

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we rely on:

  • Performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)): Processing necessary to create and maintain your account and provide the planning service you request, including storing, retrieving, and synchronizing your tasks and providing the features you choose to use.
  • Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)): Processing necessary to protect the service, investigate technical problems, and carry out the limited operational analysis described in Section 6. Our interests are keeping Memodone secure, reliable, and working as intended. This basis applies only where those interests are not overridden by your interests or fundamental rights and freedoms, with particular care for younger users.
  • Legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)): Processing necessary to meet an applicable legal obligation, such as handling requests to exercise GDPR rights under Articles 12-22. This is not a general basis for retaining your task content.

4. Calendar and Notifications

Memodone uses your iPhone's Calendar and notification features only when you choose to use them.

Calendar access requires your permission. Calendar event information is handled on your device and is not uploaded to Memodone as Calendar data.

Reminders are scheduled locally on your device and may display task titles. Your device settings control how notifications appear.

Deleting your Memodone account does not delete events that were already created in your iPhone's Calendar.

5. Data Storage and Service Providers

Memodone uses service providers for account authentication, cloud data storage, and operation of the app, including Apple and Supabase.

These providers may process limited authentication, technical, and request information in operational logs for security, troubleshooting, and service operation. Their handling of that information is subject to their own policies and retention practices.

Cloud account and task data is hosted in the United States using Supabase's us-east-1 region. Service providers may process other information in different geographic regions as part of providing their services.

International Transfer Safeguards

For international transfers subject to the GDPR, Supabase's Data Processing Addendum incorporates the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, including controller-to-processor terms. These clauses provide contractual safeguards for personal information transferred outside the European Economic Area. You can contact us to request a copy of the relevant safeguards, with redactions where necessary to protect confidential information.

6. Analytics and Tracking

Memodone does not include third-party advertising, cross-app tracking, a dedicated analytics SDK, a crash-reporting SDK, or a behavioral event-tracking system in V1.

We may review limited service metadata and account or task status when needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, or understand use of the service. We do not use task, note, or checklist content for advertising.

7. Data Retention and Account Deletion

Memodone stores your account information and tasks while your account is active.

You can delete your account directly in the app under Account → Delete account. Once deletion is complete, your account and user-owned task data are removed from Memodone's active systems and are no longer accessible through the app.

Memodone may temporarily retain limited account-deletion recovery information so that an authorized deletion can be completed safely if a network response is interrupted. Some information may also remain in provider logs or other records retained for security, legal, or operational purposes, subject to applicable retention practices and legal requirements.

Deleting your Memodone account does not delete events from your iPhone's Calendar.

8. Your Privacy Rights

You can manage your tasks directly in Memodone, and you can delete your account and associated task data through Account → Delete account.

Depending on applicable privacy laws, you may also have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, and have other rights over how it is used. Contact us using the details above to make a request.

Under the GDPR, you may also request restriction of processing and, where the conditions apply, receive personal information you have provided in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format or have it transferred to another provider.

You have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on our legitimate interests. We must stop that processing unless we demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or the processing is needed for legal claims.

You also have the right to complain to a competent data protection authority, including the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet).

9. Children's Privacy

Memodone is intended for people aged 13 and older. Before signing in, users must confirm that they are at least 13 years old.

The successful age confirmation is stored locally on the device. Memodone does not collect birth dates or exact ages for this purpose. If a person indicates that they are under 13, they cannot create or use a Memodone account.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Memodone changes or when legal requirements change. The latest version will be available at https://memodone.app/privacy.
